Red Tape [2018]

A short looped video of a repetitive administrative process. Through its title, and a series of overlaid clips of a woman folding an official looking document, sliding it into an envelope then sealing and addressing it, the video suggests a rigid bureaucratic process which leads to a standstill in decision making.

Presented alongside Searchlights, Red Tape echoes our current climate of uncertainty an unrest through the cold lens of bureaucratic mechanisms.
